We provide a full range of water resources services that apply a multi-disciplined approach to watershed assessment, water quantity / quality management and storm water facilities design. Our innovative solutions address challenges ranging from stream restoration, channel relocation and flood control, erosion and sediment control, best management practices, open and closed storm drain design and floodplain studies.
Floodplain Analysis, Delineation and Mitigation
Development adjacent to water bodies requires special design consideration in order to account for their impact on each other. Our expertise extends to the use of computer modeling tools including the HEC RAS, TR-20 and TR-55 for an accurate watershed analysis. We perform hydraulic and hydrologic analysis of the watershed contributing to stream flow. Consideration for increased flows, storminess, sea level rise and increasing surface water runoff over the design life of a development are taken into consideration. Impact of 1, 10, 100 year frequency storms are analyzed to develop a floodplain delineation.
Stormwater Management and Rain Water Harvesting Design
Extensive land development has led to various problems that are off-shoots of global warming resulting in acute water shortage in some areas and flooding in others. We have designed stormwater management systems on our projects that ensure the collection and safe conveyance of stormwater from all impervious areas. Detention/retention systems are designed for abatement of peak flood volumes in case of projects close to water bodies and also in case of projects discharging stormwater to already overloaded municipal systems. In locations where a high pollutant load is estimated, treatment systems are designed using filtration, sedimentation techniques.
Dams and Natural Lakes
Creation of natural water bodies by building small to medium size dam like structures can help achieve two goals. Such water bodies can act as flood attenuation structures thereby reducing risk of flash floods. If water quality within acceptable limits can be achieved, such water bodies can also act as rainwater recharge structures and source of alternative water. We have undertaken projects right from the feasibility stage through design and execution of small to medium projects.
